[ OUTFIT ] What Comes Around Goes Around

How interesting to see some fashion trends come and go around overtime.  When you are about to think you are probably outgrown overalls, they are back in Vogue and looking cuter than ever.  When I was a middle-high school student (late 90s early 00s) in Korea, a denim label called GV2 (I'd compare it to G-Star Raw today) was so popular that every other girl in my school wore the same overall skirt (which has very distinctive black shoulder straps with GV2 written on) paired with a white t-shirt. That look probably lasted a season or two and all of sudden it disappeared and nowhere to be found.  I don't know what happened to mine but I wish I kept them.  Given how overalls are so back and on demand, I could have made a good use out of them (especially in Brooklyn where everybody seems to wear clothes from his/her  grandmother's closet!).  Anyway, I got these overalls from Free People and love their vintage-like washed texture and floral print.  Makes me so nostalgic!

such a beautiful day at Randall's Island

One of those things you begin to take it for granted after living in NYC for long enough is that you live in the center of the art world.  All those thing tourists go crazy over, Broadway shows, museums, galleries and music venues, you develop this kind of obnoxious attitude towards, 'nah, I can go see them anytime I want'.  And then one day you realize you haven't set a foot at a museum for the last six months!  What a shame.  To break this bad streak, last Sunday Scott and I skipped the beach and went to check out Frieze Art Fair at Randall's Island.  Albeit I certainly appreciate all forms of art, I understand very little (only god knows what happened to my art history minor degree) and this was a great way to get us interested in art.  The setting at Randall's Island was so beautiful, we got to educate ourselves a little bit, with some help from our collector friend (shout out Avo!) and there was a great selection of eateries (most of them are from Brooklyn!).

We are not going to be collectors anytime soon but I certainly would like to come back next year!
